Cornhusker Nationals 2007


On May 5th, 21 shooters made the trek to Doniphan for the 38th annual Cornhusker High School National Trapshoot. More than 1,700 competitors were in attendance for the three day shoot with the high school teams competing on Friday and Saturday.

Friday was the high school singles event. More than 1,200 high school students competed. This event consisted of 100 sixteen yard targets.

At the end of the day the squad of Rachel Miller, Nora Kiteley, Kathleen Doyle, Jessica Rewolinski and Katie Stockdale finished in third place in the ladies division. They were 21 targets behind Republican Valley and nine targets behind Ord.

Day two consisted of 100 handicap targets with yardage between 18-25 yards depending on first day averages.

Squad Blue took first place in this event. Squad "Pink" with Megan Miller, Kristian Constantino, Kristyn Kocsis, Gabi Quiroz and Sam Metzler took third place in this event.

Squad Blue Rachel Miller, Nora Kiteley, Kathleen Doyle, Jessica Rewolinski and Katie Stockdale overcame the 21 target deficit of the first day to win the Nebraska State Championship.

Squad Pink Megan Miller, Kristian Constantino, Kristyn Kocsis, Gabi Quiroz and Sam Metzler took the third place trophy and medals in the overall competition.
