Marian Trap
Cornhusker Nationals 2008

On May 2nd, 26 Marian shooters trekked to Doniphan Nebraska to participate in the 39th annual Cornhusker Trapshoot. There were more than 1,650 competitors this year with the high school teams competing on Friday and Saturday. The weather was not typical for May in Nebraska. On Friday winds were such that the interstate was closed towards the western border and Friday afternoon/evening it snowed.

Friday was the high school singles event. This event consisted of 100 16 yard targets. The squad of Katie Stockdale, Megan Miller, Kristyn Kocsis, Jessica Rewolinski and Sam Metzler finished fourth in the ladies division.

As you can see above, the National Guard arrived in style for this event. We also have a great picnic experience at all of our shoots. Mr. Miller is cooking up a storm on his "Bigassgrill". As you can see we also had a chandelier for our tent this year.

Day two consisted of 100 Handicap targets. It was below freezing with howling winds in the morning. The Marian squad of Katie Stockdale, Megan Miller, Kristyn Kocsis, Jessica Rewolinski and Sam Metzler finished third in the handicap team competition and fourth overall.
