Cornhusker Nationals 2009
 

On May 1st, 25 Marian shooters made their way to Doniphan Nebraska to participate in the 40th annual Cornhusker Trapshoot. There were more than 1,600 competitors with the 248 high school teams competing on Friday and Saturday. Friday, the weather was cold and windy and of course when we were shooting it decided to add rain to the mix. Saturday was a great day with little wind and lots of sun.
Friday was the high school singles event. This event consisted of 100 16 yard targets. Marian was led by Kristian Constantino who shot a personal best on Friday. The squad of Megan Miller, Natasha Mason, Gabi Quiroz, Jessica Rewolinski and Sam Metzler finished 3rd in the ladies division and the squad of Kristian Constantino, Kristyn Kocsis, Angelique Sleder, Natalie Montanez and Kelsey Genoways finished 4th.
Day two consisted of 100 handicap targets. Marian was led by freshman Savannah Uden as she shot a personal best and a school record for 20-21 yard shooters. The squad of Megan Miller, Natasha Mason, Gabi Quiroz, Jessica Rewolinski and Sam Metzler finished third in handicaps and third overall. Three trophies, fifteen medals and 12 personal bests made for a great weekend.
