Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference
Lincoln Trap and Skeet
March 23th 2013

Just when you thought things could not get worse, the weather decided to snow for the second meet of the season. The temperature hovered in the upper 20's and lower 30's. The wind was about like last week with gusts to 30 miles per hour as more than 500 shooters converged on Lincoln Trap and Skeet. The meet started at 7:30AM. Shortly after noon the snow started in earnest and handicaps were shot in near blizzard conditions with the snow blowing into the face of the shooters. The last shots of the shootoffs were fired just as it was getting dark. A very long day but the Papillion club which ran the shoot did a good job.

Squad Blue was in fifth place in the team standings after the singles competition. In the afternoon they were tough in very adverse conditions. Maddie Worth was first overall in the handicap competition with more than 500 shooters and Squad Blue (Brianna Rakes, Rebecca Flores, Savannah Uden, Lori Nevole and Natalie Bialas) was the first all girls team to win the handicap competition in the 25 year history of the ECTC. Blue finished as the second team overall which is the highest finish for an all girls team in the league history.
